Good Afternoon All,

It is with great excitement that I'm sending this to you - yesterday City Council gave the final approval to move forward with lighting the luminous veil on the Bloor-Viaduct Bridge. As most of you know, this has been an initiative that has taken many, many years of work by our Board of Directors and our BIA City Councillors. The lighting of the luminous veil will become a major landmark in Toronto and become a wonderful illuminated gateway to our Danforth BIA.

On behalf of our BIA Board, a special thanks is extended to our Board Vice Chair, Jennifer Jones (Joy of Dance) for her years of dedicated effort in pushing this project along. And special thanks to our Councillors Paula Fletcher and Mary Fragedakis for their years of effort on behalf of this project.

The official lighting of the luminous veil will take place at 10:08pm on Saturday, July 4. Our Danforth Thrill of the Grill event will be part of this exciting event. I will continue to keep you updated as our event plans progress and are confirmed.
